Four individuals, including two men and two women, were arrested for drug-related offenses in Cancún's superblock 521. The arrests were made by municipal officers during a routine patrol and surveillance operation in the area.
While patrolling, the officers observed a man handling a dried green herb, resembling marijuana, which he had removed from a small, iridescent, transparent plastic bag. Upon seeing the officers, the man attempted to escape, leading to a chase.
The pursuit ended at an open-door construction site where the man and three others were found. The group reacted with verbal aggression when confronted, but the officers continued their inspection of the initial suspect. Following a body search, which the individual consented to, all four individuals were arrested.
The Municipal Secretary of Citizen Security and Traffic then handed the arrestees over to the State Attorney General's Office. The legal process will now continue under their jurisdiction.
