The State Attorney General's Office has announced the arrest of four individuals suspected of involvement in the murders of three taxi union members. The suspects were apprehended in separate operations following extensive field and office investigations.

Erik Nain, known as "El Burro", was arrested near the Prado Norte subdivision by Investigation Police officers and Intelligence personnel. Following his arrest, a Control Judge ordered him to be held in preventive prison for two years or for the duration of the trial.

In a separate operation near the Villas del Mar subdivision, Julio Adrián, Efraín, and Héctor Ismael were arrested. These arrests bring the total number of individuals apprehended in connection to these crimes to nine.

The investigations suggest that the four recently arrested suspects were involved in the murder of a member of the "Andrés Quintana Roo" Taxi Union. The victim was allegedly kidnapped upon arriving at his home and subsequently shot and killed on October 25, 2024. His body was later found in a green area near the Cancun-Merida federal highway.

The suspects are also believed to be involved in the murders of two taxi driver brothers, whose identities have been withheld. The brothers were killed at the union facilities on September 12, 2024, and their bodies were discovered days later on the Cancun-Kantunilkin highway.

Following these incidents, personnel from the FGE and several state and federal agencies executed a search warrant at the "Andrés Quintana Roo" Taxi Union on November 4, 2024, where they found evidence related to the murders of the two taxi operators.

The other five individuals implicated in these crimes are Jonathan Emmanuel, Salomón (known as "Mafer"), Óscar Antonio, Juan Manuel, and José Rosendo. It is believed that José Rosendo was tasked with surveilling the Union collaborator in the days leading up to the kidnapping. All suspects are currently in preventive detention.

Investigations suggest that Erik Nain, Julio Adrián, Efraín, and Héctor Ismael are part of a violent criminal group involved in drug trafficking and contract killing in the municipality of Benito Juarez. Following their arrests, Julio Adrián, Efraín, and Héctor Ismael were handed over to the appropriate authorities. Their legal status will be determined within the constitutional term.
