The Solidaridad System for Comprehensive Family Development (DIF) is offering a free, ongoing program of mammograms and breast ultrasounds aimed at early detection and prevention of breast cancer. While certain risk factors may increase the likelihood of developing this condition, early detection is crucial for effective treatment.
Women aged 40 to 69 are eligible for mammograms, while ultrasounds are available to individuals under 40 who either show symptoms related to their breasts or have a family history of breast cancer. The screenings are conducted in Cancun, with sessions held every Tuesday (schedules may vary). Round-trip transportation is provided.
To participate, individuals must present the following documents: a valid official ID from the Solidaridad municipality (both original and copy), a copy of their CURP, and proof of residence no older than 3 months. In the case of ultrasounds, a medical referral is required.
Documents can be submitted from Monday to Friday, between 09:00 and 17:00, at the Health Services Directorate of DIF, located on 8th Street between 30th and 40th avenues in the Central district. For more information, please call 9848033325.
