The free vaccination campaign for both influenza and COVID-19 is ongoing in Quintana Roo. This initiative, which began a few months ago, is still offering free doses to residents. If you're interested in getting vaccinated, here's what you need to know.
The Secretary of Health of Quintana Roo launched this campaign in several municipalities last October. The aim was to protect the most vulnerable from respiratory diseases, especially during the rainy and winter seasons, as well as the Christmas 2024 and New Year holidays.
Priority for the free vaccinations is given to those at greatest risk of contracting COVID-19 and influenza. These include:
- Adults over 60 years old
- Pregnant women
- Individuals with conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, heart diseases, etc.
- Children from 6 months to 5 years of age
- Health personnel
The campaign, which started on October 15, will run until March 28. The requirements to receive a vaccine are straightforward:
- Bring your health card
- Bring a copy of your updated CURP
According to the Secretary of Health of Quintana Roo, free vaccinations are available from 08:00 to 14:00 hours in three municipalities. However, you can also visit your nearest health center to receive a vaccine for free, but be sure to arrive early.
