Activists around the world are uniting to protest against the exploitation of dolphins at the Barceló Grand Maya hotel in Puerto Aventuras, Mexico. This demonstration is part of the global event "Empty the Tanks Worldwide."

The Barceló Grand Maya hotel is the only location in Mexico where such a protest is scheduled. The event will take place across five continents, with demonstrations also planned in the United States, Canada, Germany, France, Argentina, Japan, Australia, and South Africa.

The peaceful demonstration in Playa del Carmen is set for May 11th, commencing at five in the afternoon.

The Barceló Grand Maya hotel is home to one of Mexico's smallest dolphinariums, a fact that has raised concerns among 34 animal welfare organizations. They have identified Dolphinaris Akumal as the company responsible for keeping dolphins – widely considered to be one of the most intelligent animals on the planet – in captivity for exploitation.
