A bar named "Bola Ocho" in Playa del Carmen was the target of a shooting incident. The bar, located in Real Ibiza, was left with damage to its facade after gunmen opened fire. Fortunately, no injuries were reported on the scene.
The area was immediately cordoned off by local police. They secured the scene until forensic experts from the state's general prosecutor's office (FGE) arrived to gather evidence. The incident occurred just before ten o'clock on Sunday night, with the local authorities being alerted via radio.
Upon arrival, the officers found several spent shell casings at the bar. This prompted them to initiate the standard procedure for preserving evidence at a crime scene. Investigators specializing in homicide cases were dispatched to interview the bar's patrons.
Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots but were unable to identify the shooters. Despite an extensive search operation by the municipal police, the alleged perpetrators remain at large.
Forensic experts from the FGE were tasked with collecting the shell casings found at the scene on CTM avenue. No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
