“Breaking News: Tropical Storm Alert for Cancún & Quintana Roo Today”

The weather forecast for Cancún and Quintana Roo today, Tuesday, June 18, predicts continued rainfall in the region. The potential tropical cyclone, which could evolve into Tropical Storm “Alberto”, is expected to continue its path over the Gulf of Mexico.

The monsoon trough will remain over the southern and southeastern coasts of Mexico. This, combined with high-level atmospheric instability, will maintain rainy conditions over the northeastern, eastern, and southeastern parts of Mexico, including the Yucatán Peninsula. Additionally, wind gusts ranging from 50 to 70 km/h are expected, with a possible formation of waterspouts on the coasts of Quintana Roo.

The weather in Cancún and Quintana Roo today is predicted to be characterized by heavy rainfall. Accompanied by wind gusts between 50 to 70 km/h and the potential formation of waterspouts, these conditions could lead to pooling and flooding, as well as a rise in river and stream levels. This information has been provided by the State Coordination of Civil Protection (Coeproc) and is based on the forecast from the National Weather Service (SMN).

The weather forecast for the Yucatán Peninsula today, Tuesday, June 18, also predicts intense scattered rainfall in Campeche, Yucatán, and Quintana Roo. These conditions could be accompanied by electrical discharges and possible hail, leading to pooling and flooding, as well as increased river and stream levels. The morning is expected to be mild, with warmer temperatures in the afternoon.

Winds with gusts from 50 to 70 km/h and possible waterspouts are expected on the coasts of Yucatán and Quintana Roo. Meanwhile, gusts from 40 to 60 km/h and potential waterspouts are predicted for the coasts of Campeche. Waves from 1 to 3 meters high are also expected along the region's coasts.
