A serious accident occurred on the Playa del Carmen-Cancún highway near Mayakoba on Saturday afternoon. A Nissan Estaquitas pickup truck collided with a public service van, resulting in ten injuries.

The incident occurred when the pickup truck driver attempted to overtake on the shoulder. Upon returning to the right lane, the driver lost control and crashed into the van, which was marked with the number F-647. The impact caused the Nissan to flip several times, severely injuring its passenger. Meanwhile, the van's passengers suffered less severe injuries.

Emergency services, including firefighters and paramedics from the Secretariat of Civil Protection, Risk Prevention and Firefighters, were immediately dispatched to the scene. They provided pre-hospital care to the injured, two of whom required transportation to a hospital for specialized medical treatment.
