The Hotel Association of Cancún, Puerto Morelos, and Isla Mujeres has issued an appeal to President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and other relevant authorities to enhance the tourist services at Cancún International Airport. This plea follows several notices sent in 2023 to various agencies including the National Guard, the National Immigration Institute, and the National Customs Agency in Cancún.

As the peak holiday season approaches, the association is requesting an increase in the number of immigration officers to efficiently process arrivals from international flights. They are also urging for a faster luggage inspection process to minimize passenger waiting times, and for an increased presence of National Guard members to tackle the issue of unauthorized taxis.

In addition, the association is appealing to the ASUR Directors to speed up luggage deliveries as much as possible. The Board of Directors of the association is hopeful for the swift intervention of the relevant authorities to streamline the processes of welcoming and receiving visitors at their destinations. This will not only contribute to a positive image of the destinations but also boost foreign currency earnings for the country.
