The Hotel Association of Cancun, Puerto Morelos and Isla Mujeres has established a collection center to aid those impacted by recent flooding in Chetumal. The association's Public Relations Director, Katinka Lira Vado, announced their decision to gather non-perishable items for distribution to the local hotel chains, with the ultimate goal of assisting the local community.

Vado emphasized the urgent need for support from businesses, government entities, and individuals, as hundreds of people have been affected by the ongoing floods in Chetumal. She stated that the victims primarily require bottled water, food, medical supplies, personal hygiene items, blankets, and diapers for children and the elderly.

The collection center was set up on June 18 at the association's main office, located on José García de la Torre avenue, a short distance from Bonampak in downtown Cancun. Vado urged the public, association members, and partner organizations to donate items. She assured that once all donations have been collected, they will be personally delivered to Chetumal.
