If you've recently moved or the person who originally set up your Aguakan water service has changed, you might need to change the name on the contract. Thankfully, this process is straightforward and can be done from the comfort of your own home.
Through Aguakan's official website, you can find a step-by-step guide on how to change the name on your water service contract and bill, whether it's for domestic or commercial use, or if you're a corporation. Here's how to do it.
Documents Needed to Change the Name on Your Bill
Before starting the process, make sure you have all the necessary documents ready and that you're up-to-date with your service payments. Some of these procedures may incur a fee, which will be determined by CAPA.
To change the name on a domestic or commercial water service, you'll need:
- Notarized deeds, notarized rights assignment and stamped, SEDUVI occupation order and/or property title
- Public property registration ticket (if applicable)
- Current property tax or cadastral key
- Current official identification of the owner
- Simple Power of Attorney ratified by two witnesses (if representing the owner)
- Mutual agreement letter signed by the interested parties in case of co-ownership, if applicable (only for domestic and commercial procedures in Playa del Carmen)
- Fiscal status certificate (only for commercial use)
Documents Needed to Change the Name on a Corporate Aguakan Bill
If you're a corporation, the documents needed to change the name are:
- Notarized deeds, notarized rights assignment or property title
- Public property registration ticket (if applicable)
- Company's incorporation document
- Notarized Power of Attorney of the legal representative
- Current official identification of the legal representative
- Current fiscal status certificate
- Current payment ticket without debt
- Public property registration ticket (if applicable)
Once you have all the necessary documents, convert them to PDF format for easy uploading. Visit oficina.aguakan.com/tramite/cambio-de-nombre and click on the + sign in the relevant section.
You'll then be able to upload your contact information, including your full name, email, customer number, contact phone, and the municipality where the process is being carried out.
Upload the necessary files in the corresponding sections. After you've done this, click on the "submit my data" button and you're finished.
