The third annual 'Run With Me 5 and 10 kilometers' race saw an impressive turnout of 250 participants. The event was held in honor of International Day of Persons with Disabilities. María del Pilar Severiano Téllez, president of the Microtia Quintana Roo Association, noted that this year's race saw an increase in participation, up from 150 registrants last year.

"We hope to see this number continue to grow each year, and we're planning to introduce a new children's category by 2025," said Severiano Téllez. The race, which kicked off at 7 a.m. at Fundadores Park, aimed to raise awareness and promote inclusivity for people with disabilities.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Microtia Quintana Roo associations and the Comprehensive Care Center of Playa del Carmen. Notably, 20 percent of the total participants were people with disabilities, who attended the event with their families.

Severiano Téllez also encouraged individuals to attend a march scheduled for the morning of Saturday, December 7. The march, which will go from 88th street to the “July 28” square, is part of a series of events organized in observance of the international day of persons with disabilities.
