SHOCKING DRUG BUST IN PLAYA DEL CARMEN

A man was arrested by the Solidaridad Municipal Police in a popular tourist area of Playa Del Carmen, suspected of carrying narcotics. The arrest occurred during a routine foot patrol on 4th Street and 15th Avenue. Officers from the K9 Unit apprehended Alexis "N", a 23-year-old local, who was allegedly in possession of 21 packets of a substance believed to be cocaine and 5 packets of a substance resembling marijuana. The police dog on duty had alerted the officers to the presence of these substances. The suspect was subsequently handed over to the State Attorney General's Office for further legal proceedings.

CONTAINER OF SUSPECTED DRUGS SECURED

In a separate incident, the Solidaridad Municipal Police discovered a container suspected to contain narcotics in the Centro neighborhood. Officers from the Tourist Police found an abandoned thermos on Constituyentes Avenue. Upon inspection, they discovered 9 packets of a substance believed to be marijuana and 31 packets of a substance resembling cocaine. The container was seized and handed over to the State Attorney General's Office for further investigation.
