Elise Caffee, an American influencer known for her Instagram account “3KidsTravel” with over 48,000 followers, tragically died in a road accident in Puerto Morelos, Utah. The incident occurred eight days prior to her death when a dump truck carrying hot asphalt overturned on Federal Highway 307, causing a massive 12-vehicle pileup.

Caffee and her husband, Dan, were en route to a wedding in Cancún when their van was struck by the dump truck. The collision trapped them inside their vehicle as hot asphalt poured in.

Eyewitness accounts from family members reveal that medical personnel from a nearby hospital were able to quickly reach the scene to provide aid. They shared that firefighters suffered burns from the hot asphalt despite wearing gloves. Caffee sustained severe burns all over her body, although her face was miraculously unscathed.

Following initial treatment in Cancún to remove the asphalt from her skin, Caffee was airlifted to a specialized burn hospital in Utah. Despite the best medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday night. Her family expressed their admiration for her strength in the face of such a harrowing ordeal.

Caffee's death marks the second fatality from this tragic accident, which is shrouded in controversy. The dump truck, owned by the CATEM union, was operated by a 17-year-old without the appropriate license for such a vehicle. Furthermore, federal construction works were underway in the area without proper signage from the National Guard, potentially contributing to the deadly incident.
