Inmobilia, a top real estate developer specializing in residential and tourist properties, has announced plans to invest 5 billion pesos over the next five years in the Riviera Maya. The investment will be directed towards projects located in high-growth potential areas such as Cancún, Playa del Carmen, Mayakoba, and Tulum. These locations have become increasingly popular with the American market.

Roberto Kelleher, CEO and co-founder of Inmobilia, emphasized that the Riviera Maya currently boasts 120,000 hotel rooms, with an additional 15,000 under construction. He also noted that Cancún airport now handles nearly 30 million passengers annually, and Tulum airport is projected to manage 5 million passengers within the next two or three years. This trend solidifies the region's status as a significant tourist hub. To date, Inmobilia has developed over 7.8 million square meters across Mexico, including mixed-use complexes, tourist resorts, a private Caribbean island, and a golf course. Recent projects include the luxury residences SLS Bahía Beach and SLS Marina Beach in Puerto Cancún, with prices ranging from 16 to 18 million pesos.

Despite the real estate surge, Kelleher highlighted the need for improved infrastructure in the region, particularly in water and energy services, to support this growth. The construction of the Maya Train and the Interoceanic Train, which will connect the south-southeast of the country, has also stimulated real estate development. This presents both opportunities and challenges for the future of the Riviera Maya. Kelleher stressed that infrastructure development, especially for water and energy services, should be a top priority in the region.
