The Quintana Roo State Attorney General's Office is currently investigating the disappearance of two taxi drivers from the Puerto Morelos union. The drivers were reported missing on March 9th, according to official reports. The case came to light when family members of the missing individuals received concerning messages via WhatsApp.

One of the messages included a photo of one of the missing drivers. He was shown kneeling, his face mostly obscured by a hood. The message ominously told the recipients to "await further instructions."

In response to the situation, the Special Prosecutors' Offices for Combating Kidnapping and Disappearance Committed by Private Individuals launched field operations and conducted technological analysis. Their efforts led to the discovery of the missing drivers' vehicles. Both cars were found abandoned at kilometer 5 of the Cenotes Route.

Shortly after the vehicles were located, a video surfaced on social media. It showed one of the missing drivers making statements that suggested a connection to a local criminal group.

State authorities have assured the public that the investigation is ongoing. Their goal is to locate the missing taxi drivers and bring those responsible to justice.
