During the unveiling of the Migration Governance Indicators at the International Business and Convention Centre of Isla Mujeres, municipal president Atenea Gómez Ricalde emphasized the humanist approach of her government. She highlighted their commitment to working together to ensure the rights of migrants are recognized and upheld.

The Quintana Roo government, in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), launched the Strategy for the Strengthening of Migration Governance in September 2023. This made them the first group in the Yucatán Peninsula and the twelfth in the country to willingly adopt this strategy.

Isla Mujeres is joining these efforts to tackle migration issues. They are actively collaborating on the enhancement of the special Human Rights program. This includes promoting the employment integration of migrants through state programs. One such initiative is "Train and Employ Yourself Woman", which encourages gender equality in the workforce.

During the results presentation, the Governor and the Secretary of Government, María Cristina Torres Gómez, signed the Reform Decree to the Internal Regulations of the State Government Secretariat.
