“Beat the Heat: Isla Mujeres Council’s Top Tips to Avoid Heat Stroke!”

During seasons of high temperatures, it's crucial to take precautions to avoid heat stroke. These measures can be life-saving, particularly when faced with extreme weather conditions. The Isla Mujeres City Council has issued three key recommendations for residents and visitors.

Firstly, they advise wearing sunglasses to protect the eyes from the sun's glare. Secondly, during the peak hours of sunlight, between 11 am and 3 pm, it's recommended to wear a cap or hat. Lastly, if you're planning a trip to the beach, opt for lightweight, breathable clothing to keep cool. Heat stroke is typically caused by an overexposure to heat, often due to prolonged exposure or strenuous physical activity in high temperatures.

In the event of a heat stroke, the local authorities suggest several steps to help the affected person. These include moving the individual to a cool, shaded area, loosening their clothing, and cooling their skin either by moistening it or using fans for indirect cooling.
