The Folklore Workshop, aimed at young people in the mainland area of Isla Mujeres, is encouraging health and physical activity among residents. The Isla Mujeres Municipality has announced that 15 young people, aged between 12 and 29 years, are currently involved in the program. The majority of these participants are women, but the workshop is open to anyone who wishes to join.
The workshop takes place on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, from 6 to 8 PM, at the Ejidatarios square in the mainland area. Registration is open from 9 AM to 4 PM, Monday to Friday, at the Senior Citizen's House.
Participants in the workshop will learn traditional dances from the states of Quintana Roo, Yucatán, and Nayarit. Not only will this provide a cultural experience, but it also serves as a fun way to improve health and physical fitness. The first performance is scheduled for this coming Sunday.
