Isla Mujeres, Holbox, and Cozumel have been ranked among the top islands in North America, with scores of 91.21, 88.3, and 86.4 respectively. This information comes from the recent Readers' Choice Awards Top Islands survey. The State Government has confirmed these findings, highlighting the quality of service and excellence of these destinations and solidifying the Mexican Caribbean's status as a premier tourism location. Each year, the survey identifies the best places to visit, with Mexico consistently receiving numerous awards. This year, the focus was on the three main islands of the Mexican Caribbean, with three of Quintana Roo's islands making the top five in North America. Holbox took the top spot, emphasizing its unique appeal as a destination.

Holbox

Holbox Island is a hidden gem nestled within the Yum Balam nature reserve. It stands as an ecological sanctuary between the Yalahau lagoon – home to flamingos and pelicans – and the crystal clear waters where the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico meet.
