Sail to Victory: Isla Mujeres Del Sol Regatta 2024

The Del Sol to Sol Regatta is a yearly yacht race that begins in St. Petersburg, Florida, and ends in Isla Mujeres. This year, the traditional Captains Cup was held at the House of Rocks on Wednesday, May 1st. The 32nd edition of the regatta will set sail from Pensacola, Florida, on May 8th, 2024. The race will span 555 nautical miles (1,028 kilometers) across the Gulf of Mexico, culminating in Isla Mujeres.

The regatta is organized by the Yacht Clubs of St. Petersburg and Isla Mujeres. As part of the festivities, a basketball tournament took place on Wednesday night, featuring the yacht crews against the veterans of Isla Mujeres. A farewell cocktail party for the sailors was held on May 2nd.

On May 3rd, a Captains' meeting was held for the 51st edition of the Friends Regatta. Following the meeting, local children were invited to join the participating yachts for a race around the island. The day concluded with an awards ceremony, where trophies were presented to the champions of both regattas. The eventful day ended with a celebratory dinner.
