A jewelry store in Cancún's Grand Plaza was the site of a violent robbery this past Sunday. The incident, which took place in the Arte Joyero store, led to a swift police response and sparked fear among mall visitors and employees. Initial reports indicate that armed individuals stormed the store, firing a gunshot during the act. Although no injuries were reported, the gunshot triggered widespread panic, leading people to seek shelter within the mall.
The robbers managed to make off with high-value jewelry, a luxury watch, and a significant sum of cash. Early estimates suggest that the stolen goods could be worth more than one million pesos. The robbers managed to escape in an unknown direction after the heist.
