Starting with a single Brahma cow, he expanded his herd over the years to include Charolais and Beefmaster breeds, improving both the quality and quantity of his livestock. Maintaining the herd, particularly during droughts, is a significant challenge, with annual feeding costs sometimes exceeding 70,000 pesos. However, with the advent of satellite internet, Juan and his sons have been able to secure official support.

Today, Juan's herd numbers close to 100, although he recently had to sell 15 to cover maintenance costs. His production has improved through the use of fertilizer and seed programs, strengthening his economic position and ensuring his family's livelihood. He has also implemented improved grazing techniques, irrigation systems, and optimal feeding practices, increasing the productivity of his ranch.
