The first-ever Commercial, Agricultural, and Artisanal Fair was recently launched in downtown Kantunilkín. The event was inaugurated by the municipal president of Lázaro Cárdenas, Nivardo Mena Villanueva. The fair provided a platform for dozens of local producers to sell their goods, which included a range of products from grafts, wooden crafts, and honey, to citrus fruits, chili peppers, and fish, all at affordable prices.

Mayor Villanueva expressed his gratitude to the producers for their participation in the fair. He also announced plans to host a similar event on Holbox Island. This move aims to introduce restaurant owners, hoteliers, and tourists to the diverse range of organic agricultural products harvested in the local communities, thereby instilling confidence in potential buyers.

The fair saw participation from merchants from various communities within the Lázaro Cárdenas municipality. They had the opportunity to showcase and sell their products during the event. Following the inauguration, Mayor Villanueva toured the stands set up in the downtown dome, taking a closer look at the variety of products cultivated on the local farms.
