A kayak capsized in the Coba Lagoon on the afternoon of Sunday, July 7th, leaving one of the two passengers unaccounted for. It appears that an incorrect maneuver led to the boat flipping over, causing both individuals to end up in the water.
While one person was successfully rescued from the lagoon, the other is still missing. Despite the immediate response from emergency services and a subsequent search operation, no trace of the missing individual has been found.
Local residents have noted that the lagoon is home to a dwindling population of crocodiles, which have been gradually migrating over recent years.
Firefighters are continuing their relentless search for the missing person, whose identity has not yet been disclosed.
