The Kóokay school is hosting a children's rally as part of the First International Earth Day Festival, themed “Reforest through culture and awareness”. The festival will run from April 20th to 28th. The rally is designed to educate children about environmental care.

The rally is open to families with children aged between one year and three months to 12 years. The event will feature a variety of activities related to child development. These include a herbalism area, a recycling zone, arts and crafts, and a space for physical activities.

Daniela Martinez, a representative from the school, invites the general public to join the event. It will take place on Sunday, April 28th at noon in Pueblo Sacbe, and is expected to last two hours. Interested participants are encouraged to register in advance by calling 9841197246. More information can be found on the school's Instagram and Facebook profiles @kookayplaya.

Kóokay offers a range of services for children. While there is a fee per student, the school also offers a scholarship program for local families. Additionally, they provide counseling in cases of domestic violence. The school is also a resource for those needing intervention regarding sexual abuse or education. They even offer English lessons and opportunities to socialize with volunteers from other countries.

The school has received various recognitions and certifications, including from the European Union for the integral development of children. The school's unique approach to education involves outdoor learning. Children participate in daily walks and their diet consists entirely of fruits and vegetables.

Martinez also highlighted the school's commitment to supporting the local economy. They have an agreement with farmers from Bacalar, from whom they purchase entirely organic products.
