“Latin America’s Largest Ice Rink Debuts in Cancun – A Game-Changer for Sports Tourism!”

This Thursday, August 1st, Cancun will become home to the largest ice rink in Latin America. The Happi Arena, located at the GO Grand Outlet Riviera Maya, aims to promote sports such as ice hockey and figure skating, and to attract a new type of tourism to the area.

Jesús Alcántara Rodríguez, the founder of the Mexico Warriors Ice Hockey Club and director of the rink, said that the new attraction aims to boost sports tourism in the region. The goal is to attract over 60,000 new visitors, including amateur and professional athletes from Mexico, the US, and Canada who participate in various winter sports.

Covering 1,800 square meters, the Happi Arena will offer a new form of entertainment and socializing for families in the region. It is expected to host national teams and professional NHL teams for their preseasons, serving as a draw for these groups.

The Happi Arena will also provide an inclusive space for sled hockey, positioning Mexico as a leader in adapted sports in Latin America. With the backing of USA Hockey, the Happi Arena also plans to establish a collegiate hockey league, further cementing its role as a leading center for recreation and sports at the Grand Outlet Riviera Maya.

The Happi Arena is one of the most anticipated attractions of the Grand Outlet Riviera Maya. This shopping center continues to establish itself as a premier destination for luxury shopping, outlets, and entertainment in one of Mexico's main tourist corridors.
