20 Shocking Homicides Rock Quintana Roo in May

The second last week of May ended with 20 intentional homicides across six municipalities in Quintana Roo. The week began with a man fatally shot in the La Guadalupana subdivision, located in region 218 of Cancún. On the same day, another man was killed outside his residence in the 2 de Octubre neighborhood of Tulum. A chef from the Dreams hotel in Puerto Juárez also lost his life after being stabbed by a coworker. He later died in the IMSS of region 510.

On Tuesday, a woman was killed in a restaurant situated on the Puerto Juárez – Punta Sam road, in the continental area of Isla Mujeres. The assailant had posed as a customer. Later that day, in the municipality of Solidaridad, a man was shot dead in the Misión de las Flores subdivision in Playa del Carmen. A homeless man was also beheaded in a house in the Emiliano Zapata neighborhood of Cozumel.

On Wednesday, a lifeless body was discovered in the Colosio neighborhood of Playa del Carmen. Another case was reported by the State on the same day, but the location of the incident was not disclosed.

On Thursday, a man was fatally shot in region 99 of Cancún. Shortly after, a woman was killed in a house in the Valle Verde neighborhood. Another man was shot dead in the Avante neighborhood of Cancún.
