Lifeguards in Solidaridad were presented with recertification certificates today. The municipal authorities, led by Arturo Castro on behalf of Mayor Estefanía Mercado, distributed the certificates following the successful completion of a training course designed to update the lifeguards' knowledge and skills. The event took place at Parque Fundadores, beneath the Portal Maya.
During the ceremony, the commitment of Civil Protection personnel to professional development was recognized. This is particularly important in a tourist hotspot like Playa del Carmen, which not only offers natural beauty to visitors but also needs to ensure their safety.
Arturo Castro expressed gratitude on behalf of the Municipal President to instructor Gustavo Rocha, who trained the Solidaridad lifeguard team. Castro emphasized that the current administration is committed to ongoing training for all City Hall staff.
Joined by representatives from the Naval Zone, the Harbor Master's Office, and the National Defense Secretary (Sedena), Castro praised the municipality's professional and dedicated lifeguard team, who are always ready to assist beachgoers. He urged all Civil Protection personnel to continue their training and to serve with honor and pride, as they are often the first responders in any emergency.
