Lili Campos Miranda, a candidate for the municipal presidency of Solidaridad, has proposed several initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life for residents of Playa del Carmen. A key proposal involves offering temporary jobs for the cleanup of sargazo, a type of seaweed, from the area's coastal destinations.
The initiative, dubbed the "Manos a la Obra" program, is part of a broader effort to rejuvenate Playa del Carmen. The program promises to provide temporary employment opportunities for local residents. These jobs will primarily involve cleaning the coasts of Playa del Carmen, collecting sargazo, and maintaining the cleanliness of the city's streets and avenues. Other tasks may include trash collection, painting sidewalks, and maintaining medians.
Campos Miranda emphasizes that this initiative will not only help keep the city clean, but also provide residents with a source of income to support their families. As the PAN and PRI candidate for the Solidaridad town hall, she asserts that one of the main objectives during this period of renewal will be to support the local economy, with a special focus on assisting those who are less fortunate.
