In the town of Tekit in Yucatán, a man known as Alejandro, also referred to as "El Wero", was lynched by local residents. He was accused of the femicide of a woman named María Candelaria. Although Alejandro was initially detained by the police, the community took matters into their own hands. They doused him in gasoline and set him alight, leading to his death.

Reports indicate that "El Wero" had assaulted the victim with a machete at her residence, an act that sparked outrage among the locals. Despite the authorities' intervention, the residents overpowered them, took custody of the accused, and subjected him to a brutal beating. The Yucatán government has since denounced the lynching and pledged to launch an investigation into the incident.

Local inhabitants noted that Alejandro had a history of disruptive behavior and had been arrested before. The severity of the lynching has sent shockwaves through the region, underscoring the alarming levels of violence in Yucatán.
