Quintana Roo's Attorney General has announced the arrest of a man, identified only as Manuel de Jesús N., in connection to an attempted femicide. The victim, whose identity is being kept confidential, is believed to have been his partner.
According to the investigation, on April 13, Manuel de Jesús N. allegedly arrived at the woman's home in Cancún, forced his way inside, and poured gasoline on her. He then threatened her with a bladed weapon, compelling her to leave the premises.
During a struggle on the street, the woman was able to escape her assailant and sought refuge in a nearby grocery store. After a complaint was lodged with the Special Prosecutor's Office for the Combat of Femicide, an investigation was launched.
An arrest warrant was subsequently issued by a control judge, leading to the arrest of Manuel de Jesús N. Following the execution of the judicial order, the accused was presented before the requesting control judge to determine his legal status in light of the attempted femicide charges against him in Cancún.
