Millions Lost: Man Arrested for Halting Hotel Construction

A man was recently arrested in Cancún for his suspected involvement in an extortion scheme. He is accused of unlawfully instigating a legal injunction to halt the construction of a hotel. This action led to a loss of millions and caused the suspension of a thousand jobs.

The Attorney General's Office reports that the man demanded money in return for lifting the injunction. He allegedly used a firearm to intimidate his victim.

After an arrest warrant was issued, the man was taken to a correctional facility to face the charges against him.
