A local resident experienced a traumatic evening at a nightclub in the Mayapax neighborhood of Tulum. He had planned to enjoy a night out, but instead, he was brutally attacked by a gang after refusing to purchase drugs.
The incident occurred around 12:30 am at the Princess nightclub, located on Geminis Street between 2 and 4 Oriente. An emergency call was placed to 911 to report a fight taking place within the establishment.
Upon receiving the distress call, a patrol from the Public Security and Citizen Protection Secretariat was immediately dispatched to the scene. However, upon arrival, they discovered that the nightclub had already closed for the night. The security staff at the venue did not permit the authorities to enter the premises.
According to the anonymous 911 caller, a man in his thirties was approached in the restroom by the gang members. They attempted to sell him drugs, described as 'rock-shaped candies'. When he declined their offer, they responded with violence. The man managed to escape the venue following the assault.
