Locals Stop Assault: Venezuelan Woman Saved in Playa del Carmen

Two separate scenes showing law enforcement officers: on the left, an officer appears to be questioning or detaining a person next to a vehicle with "Policia" text; on the right, an officer is crouching down by a car's wheel.

In Playa del Carmen, a man who allegedly attempted to sexually assault a Venezuelan woman was restrained by local residents.

The incident took place on 42nd Street and 20th Avenue. Municipal Preventive Police arrived at the scene to find the man tied up by his hands and feet. Witnesses reported the man had tried to inappropriately touch a Venezuelan woman.

Upon hearing the woman's cries for help, nearby residents swiftly intervened. The man, who was wearing a black shirt, blue jeans, and khaki boots, seemed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time.

The man was handed over to the authorities and subsequently taken to the Public Security base. He is expected to face a judge for charges of sexual assault.
