In a tragic incident, a man lost his life after falling from the third floor of a building under construction in the Luis Donaldo Colosio neighborhood of Playa Del Carmen. The man, believed to be homeless, fell into an open area of the construction site. The incident took place on 15th street, between 76th and 78th streets, a region currently undergoing construction work.
Local residents discovered the man's body in the middle of the public road, prompting immediate calls to the 911 emergency services. Upon arrival, Municipal Police officers and paramedics confirmed the man had died from his injuries. Despite their best efforts, the paramedics were unable to revive him.
Authorities cordoned off the area as they awaited the arrival of the State Attorney General's Office staff. The team will conduct an investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the man's fall. The man's body was later transferred to the Forensic Medicine Service (Semefo) for an autopsy, as per legal requirements.
The incident has sparked concern among residents of the Luis Donaldo Colosio neighborhood. Many have expressed worries about safety standards at local construction sites and the vulnerability of homeless individuals in the area.
