A man was tragically killed outside his home in Cancún, after being targeted by individuals in a moving vehicle. The 27-year-old victim was standing outside his residence on 27th Street, near the corner of Niños Héroes Avenue, when the assailants struck.
Witnesses reported seeing the attackers' vehicle, but were unable to provide specific details about its make or model. The victim's family, who managed to catch a glimpse of the car as it sped away, were also unable to recognize it. They promptly dialed the emergency number 911 and requested medical assistance.
Paramedics arrived swiftly at the scene, in Region 233, but were unable to revive the victim, confirming that he had already succumbed to his injuries. Following this, officers from the Municipal Secretariat of Citizen Security and Traffic (SMSCyT) secured the area.
At this time, it remains unknown whether the victim had received any threats prior to the attack, or if he was involved in any illegal activities. It is also unclear if this incident was an act of revenge. The State Attorney's Office (FGE) has taken charge of the investigation.
Forensic Services are expected to arrive soon to collect the body and transfer it to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) for further examination.
