Shocking: Man Digs Up Grave to Bury Grandmother

In a shocking incident from Spain, a man was found to have disturbed a grave to make room for his deceased grandmother. This illegal act took place in a municipal cemetery, as confirmed by local authorities.

The individuals involved in this case were a former councilman and an employee of the Calpe City Council. Both were found guilty by a Spanish court and received sentences of 9 years and 2 years 3 months, respectively. These sentences were for suspension from their public roles and jobs due to administrative prevarication. However, they were not charged for document forgery, disrespect for the deceased, moral integrity violation, or coercion as these allegations were not sufficiently established by the Superior Court of Justice of Valencia.

It was reported that back in 2018, the family of the council employee, who was the head of Human Resources, expressed interest in a grave plot next to where the grandfather was buried. With the grandmother's health deteriorating, the family began to prepare for her passing. They asked the council employee to assist them in ensuring that the couple could be "united until death".

The council employee approached the cemetery's administrative head, only to be informed that the desired plot was already occupied by a person who had died in 1973. The plot was legally held by the deceased's heirs for at least 99 years. Despite this, the council employee and his family were not deterred. As the grandmother's health worsened in 2019, they felt compelled to secure the plot "one way or another", even if it meant pressuring the gravediggers to disregard the rules.

Despite their insistence, the cemetery representative refused to perform the exhumation. After the grandmother's death, the convicted individuals devised a plan. The gravediggers, unaware of the illegality of the act, were instructed to remove the remains. The coffin containing the bones was relocated to a communal grave, and the grandmother's remains were placed in the newly vacated plot.
