Governor Lezama Celebrates National Mayan Culture Day

Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa celebrated National Mayan Culture Day in Felipe Carrillo Puerto by meeting with Mayan leaders. The event was a tribute to the cultural richness of the Mayan people and an affirmation of Lezama's commitment to serve indigenous communities and preserve their unique identity.

Lezama emphasized the significance of recognizing the Mayan people's glorious past and appreciating their traditions and customs. She also announced initiatives aimed at community development. These include the completion of the Castes War Museum and improvements to local hospital infrastructure.

The Institute for the Development of the Mayan People also hosted a luncheon for the dignitaries. The event was a celebration of unity and a testament to the pride the Mayan people have in their heritage.
