“Breaking News: Maya Train Cancún-Tulum Inauguration Delayed to August!”

The Maya Train, an ambitious project by the current government, aims to boost tourism in the key regions of the Yucatán Peninsula. This railway will connect the Mayan world across five southeastern states of the country. Despite controversy among environmentalists and politicians, the project has moved forward under the leadership of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and his team. While some sections are ready for operation, others are not yet suitable for tourist activities. The Ministry of Public Administration recently highlighted irregularities in some sections of the Maya Train, which are currently under investigation.

To meet safety and environmental protection goals, changes have been proposed, including the modification of a structure to build a bridge. This bridge will safeguard the area's underground rivers, which are critical to local communities and ecosystems.

President López Obrador announced that the bridge will have a 200-meter clear span without columns. This construction will take time, causing a delay in the opening of the Cancún-Tulum section. The inauguration of this section is now scheduled for August, in compliance with legal safety guidelines. The President also announced plans to visit the site next weekend to assess the construction progress of the Maya Train and the new bridge.
