The Mobility Institute of the State of Quintana Roo (IMOVEQROO) recently hosted the third edition of the "Me lleva el Tren" Forum. This event brought together federal, state, and municipal authorities, in addition to experts in sustainable mobility, environment, and public policy. They discussed the challenges of funding and implementing railway systems and transportation infrastructure in Mexico and Quintana Roo.

During the event, Rodrigo Alcazar Urrutia, the director of IMOVEQROO, introduced the Public Transportation Corridor project. He emphasized its integration with the Maya Train and the transformative potential of this development for regional mobility. Urrutia noted, "This project, already backed by an investment code from the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, will revolutionize our transportation system. We will transition from a man-truck system to a more efficient, interconnected transportation network."

The forum, organized in partnership with Comunica la Ciudad, hosted debates on non-motorized mobility, technology, and sustainable governance. The Maya Train was highlighted as a crucial component for a railway country, with a projected network expansion of over 3,000 kilometers in the next six years. This initiative is championed by the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum.

Óscar Fernández, executive director of Teltronic Mexico, praised the federal government's vision to create a more connected and environmentally friendly country. The head of IMOVEQROO also emphasized Governor Mara Lezama's strong commitment to sustainable mobility and shared prosperity for all Quintana Roo residents.

"We are at a pivotal moment for mobility in Cancun and throughout the state. This forum allows us to exchange ideas with experts in technology, road safety, accessibility, and bicycle mobility, aligning with our public policies," Urrutia stated.

The forum featured three debate tables, addressing topics such as the technological and budgetary challenges of the Maya Train, non-motorized mobility, and the importance of integrating advanced technologies and public bike systems for a sustainable and efficient transportation system.

Through events like these, Quintana Roo continues to assert its role as a key player in railway and sustainable mobility in Mexico. This contributes to the development of infrastructure that will improve the quality of life for its residents and the entire country.
