In southern Mexico, law enforcement authorities have apprehended a prominent figure in a notorious cartel. Jorge Luis 'N', known as 'El Toledo', the plaza boss of the Caborca Cartel, was arrested in Merida, Yucatan, according to reports from the Yucatan Public Security Secretariat and the State Investigation Police.

'El Toledo' was not alone at the time of his arrest. Alongside him were six other individuals, including his brother Elder Jair 'N', his father Jorge Luis 'N', three men and a woman believed to be his bodyguards.

The state Security Secretariat reported that the group was traveling in two luxury vehicles with tinted windows, which drew the attention of local law enforcement. Upon stopping them at a convenience store, police discovered weapons and ammunition in the vehicles.

The detainees are suspected of being involved in a variety of criminal activities in the region. Jorge Luis 'N', aged 36, his 69-year-old father and his 35-year-old brother are believed to be significant contributors to the violence in southern Quintana Roo. They are also accused of using small planes to smuggle drugs into various local municipalities.

The group is currently under investigation for their potential involvement in numerous homicides, kidnappings, and instances of extortion. The Caborca Cartel, which they are associated with, is led by the Caro Quintero family. The cartel operates in the Caborca municipality and has a significant presence in southern Quintana Roo, where it is involved in illegal activities such as drug trafficking.
