Mexico City, Mexico — In its latest annual ranking of the world’s most beautiful countries, Forbes, in collaboration with the British platform Money.co.uk, has placed Mexico in fifth place globally. The recognition highlights Mexico’s unparalleled natural diversity, cultural heritage, and commitment to sustainable tourism.

A Global Standout for Natural and Cultural Wealth

The study evaluated over 50 nations based on geographic diversity, protected natural areas, coastlines, jungles, mountain ranges, and dedication to sustainable tourism. Mexico earned high marks for its extraordinary biodiversity, millennia-old cultural legacy, and a tourism offering that spans pristine beaches, "Pueblos Mágicos" (Magical Towns), and world-renowned archaeological sites.

Why Mexico Secured Fifth Place

Mexico’s unique variety of ecosystems—from the Sonoran Desert to the mangroves of Chiapas, the Sierra Madre mountains, and the Caribbean and Pacific coastlines—played a key role in its ranking. Additionally, its historical and cultural landmarks, including the pyramids of Teotihuacán and the Mayan ruins of Palenque and Chichén Itzá, contribute to a rich and immersive tourism experience.

The report also emphasized Mexico’s efforts in promoting sustainable tourism through initiatives such as ecotourism development and conservation of flora and fauna. These measures allow visitors to enjoy authentic experiences while preserving the country’s natural wealth for future generations.
