Breaking: Grupo Regio Fire Evacuates Workers in Cancún

A firefighter truck parked outside a building with the sign "Bomberos" and number "968" on it, emblematic of emergency services, with people and vehicles in the vicinity under a clear sky.

A small fire broke out on the roof of a building on 135th Street, in the Super-block 98 area of Cancún, prompting firefighters to respond on Friday morning. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and only material damage was sustained.

The incident occurred just after ten in the morning at the Grupo Regio offices, situated between Andres Quintana Roo and José López Portillo Avenues. Firefighters were alerted to a minor fire on the building's rooftop.

It was discovered that a short circuit had sparked the small fire. As a precaution, workers at the site were evacuated while firefighters carried out necessary safety procedures.

Maintenance workers were able to control and extinguish the fire using fire extinguishers before the firefighters arrived. The firefighters' role was to ensure there was no risk of the fire reigniting.

Civil Protection personnel also arrived at the site to inspect the premises. Accompanied by those in charge, they assessed the situation and determined there was no further risk to the workers. Consequently, the workers were allowed to re-enter the building and continue with their daily activities.
