Alejandra, a 17-year-old girl who was reported missing in Tecamachalco, Puebla, has been found on a passenger bus in Tulum, Quintana Roo. The Tulum municipal police discovered Alejandra on a bus operated by the ADO company in the Centro neighborhood. Alejandra's family had been searching for her since Monday, October 28, 2024, after she was last seen at Quetzalcóatl High School in Santiago Alseseca.
In response to her disappearance, the State Attorney General's Office issued an Amber Alert, describing Alejandra as having short black hair and a distinguishing mole under her left lip.
Passengers on the bus reported to the Citizen Security Secretariat that a girl matching Alejandra's description was on board. At the time of her disappearance, Alejandra was wearing a blue, white, and red striped sweater, a white blouse, a maroon pleated skirt, black shoes, and a sparkly backpack. However, when she was found, she was wearing shorts and a green sweatshirt, though her socks and shoes matched the description from the Amber Alert.
Upon receiving the report, police officers arrived at the scene and confirmed Alejandra's identity. In collaboration with the Specialized Group for Attention to Family and Gender Violence, the police took Alejandra into custody to ensure her safety and facilitate her reunion with her family.
In October 2024, the State Search Commission reported a total of 871 missing persons in Puebla.
