Playa del Carmen is grappling with a disturbing case of animal abuse. Reports suggest that as many as three dogs may have been sexually abused by the same individual in the Villas del Sol neighborhood. The first case came to light on Wednesday night, involving a dog named Chuleta. Authorities are now collaborating with specialists to ascertain if two other dogs, also reported as potential victims, suffered similar abuse.
Orlando García, director of Environmental Standards, warned that there could be more cases. Reports of other animals disappearing in the area have raised concerns. García urged the public to report any suspicious activities to aid the ongoing investigation.
García also clarified that this is the first instance of such a case in the area. The authorities are committed to doing everything necessary to ensure the safety of the animals and enforce the Animal Welfare Law. The objective is to gather enough evidence to present to the State Attorney General's Office. They will then assess the extent of the damage and determine the legal actions to be taken against the perpetrator.
This case has sparked outrage among the residents of Solidaridad, who are demanding justice and improved protection for animals. The authorities have reiterated their commitment to unravel the truth behind these incidents and ensure the well-being of pets in the municipality.
