A mother and her son narrowly escaped a threatening situation in their home in José María Morelos, Quintana Roo. Their neighbors, in a fit of rage, allegedly planned to set their house on fire due to an ongoing dispute.
The son, Carlos Hoil Pablo, was accused of throwing stones at the neighbors' house. In response, the neighbors reportedly planned to retaliate by burning down Carlos and his mother's home. The situation escalated around 8:30 PM, prompting the arrival of firefighters to 35th Street, between Chilam Balam and Miguel Hidalgo.
Upon arrival, the firefighters prepared to extinguish a fire at the home of Ms. Candelaria Pablo López, Carlos's mother. However, they found that the house was not on fire and was empty. It was later revealed that due to the escalating family dispute, Ms. Candelaria and Carlos had abandoned their home.
Further investigation revealed that Carlos had previously vandalized his cousin's barbershop, who also happens to be their neighbor. In response, the cousin, who owns the barbershop, had allegedly fetched gasoline with the intention of setting the house on fire, suspecting that Ms. Candelaria and Carlos were inside. Fortunately, they had managed to escape, preventing the neighbor from carrying out his plan.
This incident is the latest in a series of ongoing disputes between Ms. Candelaria, her son Carlos, and their neighbors on 35th Street, which have been occurring for years.
