A tragic accident occurred in southern Quintana Roo, involving a motorcyclist and a gondola transporting materials for the Maya train. The incident was reportedly due to excessive speed and lack of caution.
The accident happened on Federal Highway 186, between the towns of Sergio Butrón Casas and Carlos A. Madrazo. Local witnesses reported that the motorcyclist was traveling at speeds exceeding 100 kilometers per hour, apparently unaware of the gondola's movements.
The gondola driver, unable to see the speeding motorcyclist, collided with him as he was attempting to enter a dirt road. The impact was devastating. The motorcyclist sustained fractures throughout his body, including his skull, resulting in immediate death.
