In Playa Del Carmen, a mototaxi driver was apprehended while in possession of over 110 suspected drug doses. The incident occurred on Los Gansos Avenue, in the Villas del Sol subdivision of the city. The man was initially spotted by police officers for urinating in public, next to a mototaxi bearing the number 98. This prompted the officers to conduct a search.
During the search, the authorities discovered 58 packets believed to contain cocaine, 44 suspected to be crystal meth, 9 thought to be marijuana, and 4 that appeared to be LSD. All the confiscated substances, along with the apprehended man, were handed over to the Prosecutor's Office Specialising in Crimes against Health in its Retail Drug Dealing division.
