Deadly Chain of Events on Federal Highway 184: Multiple Accidents, One Fatality

In a series of unfortunate events, three separate accidents occurred at the same spot on Federal Highway 184 Polyuc-Peto, not far from the municipal headquarters. One of these incidents resulted in a fatality.

The first accident occurred in the afternoon at the infamous "Curva del Ceibo", located at kilometer 152 of the highway. A van skidded on the wet pavement and veered off the asphalt road. Fortunately, the family inside the van was unscathed.

The woman driving the van later reported that another vehicle had encroached on her lane, forcing her to brake abruptly and causing her to skid. The red Mitsubishi van she was driving was heavily damaged, but thankfully, the two adults and two children onboard were unharmed.

A few hours later, around six-thirty in the evening, a pickup truck veered off the road on the same curve, ending up semi-overturned on the side of the road. Paramedics arrived at the scene and managed to extract a man from the vehicle. However, they discovered another individual, an elderly person, who had already passed away.

The rescued man claimed that a truck had encroached on his lane, causing them to skid on the wet pavement.

In a third incident just minutes later, a motorist in a gray car was distracted by the sight of the crashed truck. He didn't notice when he drifted into the opposite lane and collided with a white van. Fortunately, this accident resulted in no injuries, only property damage.
